The Virgin Islands Search and Rescue’s (VISAR) annual fundraiser, “the Governors Gourmet Gathering”, was hosted in part at Old Government House Museum on Friday February 24th 2012. During an auction, guests bid on many items including a private daysail, spa days, dinners and resort stays. A press release from VISAR suggests that the event raised over $20,000 this year!
Virgin Islands Search and Rescue’s annual fundraiser, “The Governor’s Gourmet Gathering,” raised a record $20,361 last month, organisers said. Held on Feb. 24 at Government House, the event sold out 10 days after tickets went on sale, even though 100 extra slots had been added this year, according to a press release from VISAR. Attendees were treated to music by VI performer Ouida, and they sampled food from 12 businesses. This year the venue was opened into the Government House Museum to make room for 300 people, according to the press release.
